Dr. Cheryl Adkins

Veterinarian

Dr. Adkins is originally from St. Louis, MO.  She moved down to Fort Smith, AR in 2008 after graduating Veterinary School from the University of Missouri-Columba.  She worked in Fort Smith for 14 years before moving to Anderson, MO.  She occasionally still works at the Fort Smith Animal Emergency clinic, but the majority of her time working is spent at the NWA Animal Urgent Care.  Dr. Adkins, her husband, and 3 children live with a small menagerie of pets: 2 dogs, 4 cats, 5 ferrets, 6 parakeets, 2 guinea pigs, and 1 hedgehog.  In her spare time she enjoys reading, art projects, rockhounding, and hiking.

Dr. Ada Fernandez

Veterinarian

I studied veterinary medicine because, since I was a child I felt a big love for animals, I grew up with the dream and hope of always being able to help them. I studied in Cuba for five years, and when I came to the United States, I studied for three more years to get my license. I am very grateful for all of the support I have received in this great country to continue with my dream of being a veterinarian. As a veterinary doctor, I believe that the best health for your pet begins with good nutrition in addition to the preventive care needed at every stage of their life. I have four dogs and three cats personally, and I love to spend time with them. They are amazing. I also love to dance and sing and spend time outdoors. One of my dreams is to study acupuncture and holistic veterinary medicine now I am part of the fear-free program to offer my patients an excellent healthcare experience with the least stress possible.
